Couldn’t put it down. Loved the intricacy and interwoven, thought-provoking storylines.

I have read all Greg Isles books but this one was painful and completely unhinged. He tried to roll every liberal talking point into one book to foment division. Hours of time I will never get back. It’s a shame - I used to pre-order all his books. This will be the last.

I literally got 23 pages into this trash before I deleted the book. The 2024 election has passed and Trump won in a landslide. I guess, according to Mr. Isle’s viewpoint, there are more bitter, uneducated white folks in the country than bleeding heart liberals. First Stephen King, now Greg Iles. I have no time for authors who insult their readers. Bye, bye Greg.

I have enjoyed all of the works by the author I’ve read in the past, but this narrative is nothing more than the author continuing the saga of Penn Cage in order to push a very negative ideology about anyone who doesn’t share his view of the current political climate. I don’t mind reading and exchanging viewpoints respectfully but I resent buying a book only to be lectured about right and wrong and the stereotypes the author uses so blatantly politically. I’ll have to be desperate to buy anything else penned by Mr. Iles.

Wonderful read as are all of Greg Isles books. Very entertaining. Definitely 5 stars.

I was a Greg Iles fan until this book. He had to bring today’s politics into the story which turned me off. I see enough of that on the news etc. I wanted a good read to get away from the vitriol and here he is taking shots at conservatives. I only got 25% of the book before deleting. Don’t waste your money on it!

This author is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome .. Another author that’s thrown there career away thinking anyone cares about there politics .. alls he’s proven is he likes mutilating mentally ill children for profit, open borders, and many more disgusting policies the democrats love so much ..

Greg Iles has mellowed some since the last book in this series but Trump is still living in his head rent free. Iles also seems to carry a lot of white guilt from some past discretion…

Way too long and rambling. If you wanted another book of Trump and MAGA bashing cliches then this one might interest you until you get bored with it.

Fantastic story weaved with historical context and intrigue. Loved it!
