Long, tedious book with no point
By russllj
Filled with details that wind up not mattering at all and flat, uninteresting characters that repeat themselves over and over and over again, this book is a waste of time. After 600 pages of teasing “the great mystery of the Honored Matre’s diabolical plot” and the “secret modifications of Duncan Idaho, the ghola,”the big reveal becomes one of the biggest womp, womp moments in fiction. Save yourself. I read it, so you don’t have to.
A worthy sequel

This was a good book, I thoroughly enjoyed it. At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to connect to any of the new characters since this takes places thousands of years after the original book, yet Frank Herbert pulls it off. While I’ll always have a soft spot for the original characters (the ones that were in movies, miniseries, remakes, and even video games) I grew to care for the new setting & characters as well. It can be a dense read sometimes, but if you get through that, you will enjoy this sequel.
Wow… just wow

He should have stopped using drugs when he finished the first book. You can hear crack-head mumbling in the book from all characters’s points of view.
My favorite so far

The Dune Empire starts to decay and evolve at the same time. There are many themes of morality and immortality played out here. An amazing fifth book in the series.
Best book of the series

Not an easy read, but by and far the best book in the series.

I love this book, but the iBook is missing all it's content. Problem?
