Hello, dear readers! I’m very sorry to say that Read Me Away is closing down. Honestly, whenever I haven’t updated for a while, I feel like I want to try and bring the blog back with something super fresh. But this time? I’ve been preoccupied with other things, mostly life things. Mostly things like focusing on work, realigning my priorities, and getting into other hobbies. I still read, of course, but I don’t really feel the urge to blog about books anymore. It’s been an amazing ride, dear reader. Since I started blogging in April 2013, I’ve met such amazing […]
Yes, that’s right, dear reader! RMA is back with your usual dose of reviews, discussions, and posts, and with a new look! :D So come over here to the site and check it out! The new layout features Ana art that was done by the super amazing Nick Beecher! LOOK at that header! Look at those chibi Ana icons! Nick does AMAZING work and I personally really LOVE how he does expressions and poses. :D So if you’re looking for art, keep Nick in mind! Aside from his art, he’s also super nice. For reals, I gave him so much […]
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all have an awesome 2016! :D And now, this post is to announce that the blog will be on vacation during the month of January (as it has been for most of December) for several reasons, as outlined below: I am currently visiting family and away from the computer that I use to make graphics and can’t work on the site design until I’m back home. I want to take some time to organise my tags and categories in an effort to make things less cluttered on my blog. I plan […]
(Alternative title: LOOK at this lovely artwork that the awesome Nick Beecher did! I am still reeling over how much I adore it!) This post is probably unnecessary but I still wanted to talk about Ana the Site Mascot aka Anavatar aka the orange-haired character whose image I use on social media sites to represent myself. First off, let me just say that “Ana” is not my real name but is derived from a rather obscure nickname that I have. (The translation is a little roundabout, long story, BUT ANYWAY.) While I was thinking up this post, I started thinking […]
Hey, dear reader! Life has just been… Super busy and hectic lately. In a good way! Exciting things are happening in life, and it’s going to take some getting used to before I establish my routine. Right now, trying to balance things is rather difficult and I just need a little time to get myself and this blog together for November. Until then, you can still find me on Twitter and keep recommending science fiction books. ;) And of course I’ll still participate in Read Play Blog, because I really like this month’s topic. :D Take care, reader!
Last week, I posted the results of my reader survey. This week, I’m going to talk about some of the changes and new features you can expect from this blog in the near future! Improved discussions Discussions topped the list of posts that the respondents were interested in, and that makes me real happy because I love discussions. I used to be wary of making my discussions long because I was afraid they would be boring. But given this interest in discussions, I’ll be working to making my discussions not just longer, but hopefully with more substance! :) Series reviews […]
Hello there, dear reader! During the month of June, I ran a reader survey. Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill it out. :) Today, I’m going to share the results with you. In my survey, I asked about some reader demographics and tried to gauge reader interest in hopes of making better content. Next week, I’ll be posting about what changes will happen to the blog given all these results. A note about the charts: Pie charts were used for questions where the respondents could only select one answer, but bar charts were used for questions […]
HOO! Hello there, dear reader! My June has been a whirlwind of activity, and I really think it helped! I didn’t get a lot of reviews for my buffer though. :P But still, I was able to think and brew up new ideas for discussion topics, Book Breaktime, and a bunch of other stuff. I’m excited to actually start working on content again! How have you been, dear reader? Let me know what’s been great for you this past month! I also decided to put up a Reader Survey, because your feedback is important and I want you to have […]
Hey there, dear reader! Life has been kicking my butt lately in terms of being busy, so I have to announce that this blog will on hiatus through the month of June. This is the mid-year slump hitting my blogging life, just as things in my real life are ramping up. The month off will give me some time to build up my content, hopefully! I’ll still be checking in on Twitter, so feel free to hit me up there! <3 See you in July!
My dear reader, I am super excited to announce a fun event coming this March: Away to Whimsical Fairy Tale Land! I am co-hosting this with the super awesome Charlene of Bookish Whimsy. Her post about it is coming later today and, trust me, it’s going to be a really informative read! (I swear, I learn so many new things whenever she puts up a new Refined Reader post.) Meanwhile, watch me flail about this event and gush about how much I love retellings! You all know that I have a soft spot for fairy tale retellings. One of my […]
